Biography

Jing Jiang is a Professor in the School of Computing at the Australian National University. Previously she was a Professor and Director of the AI & Data Science Cluster in the School of Computing and Information Systems at the Singapore Management University. Her research interests include natural language processing, text mining, and machine learning. She has received two test-of-time awards for her work on social media analysis, and she was named Singapore’s 100 Women in Tech in 2021. She holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Biography

Lina Yao is a Senior Principal Research Scientist and Science Lead for Translational Machine Learning @ CSIRO's Data61, Conjoint Professor at UNSW and Honorary Professor at Macquarie University and UTS. Her research interest lies in developing generalizable and explainable data-efficient data mining, machine learning and deep learning algorithms—as well as designing systems and interfaces—to enable novel ways of human-machine interactions, including an improved understanding of challenges such as robustness, trust, explain ability and resilience that improve human-autonomy partnership.

Biography

Wenjie Zhang is a Professor, ARC Future Fellow, Deputy Head of School (Research and Operations) and Head of Data and Knowledge Research Group in School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of New South Wales Australia. Her research interests lie in developing efficient (e.g., real-time) and scalable techniques for data intensive applications. She has published over 180 research papers in leading international journals and conferences. Wenjie serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering and VLDB Journal, PC chair for ICDE 2025, a senior PC or track chair for VLDB 2023/2022, CIKM 2022/2021/2019/2015, and ICDE 2023/2019, and organization committee member or PC member for more than 50 international conferences. Wenjie is the recipient of the Australasian CORE Chris Wallace Research Award in 2019. Her works receive the ACM SIGMOD Research Highlight Award 2021, one of the Best Papers in SIGMOD 2020, ICDE 2013/2012/2010, and several Best (Student) Paper Awards from international conferences.

Biography

Jing Jiang is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science and a core member of the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute (AAII), at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). She is an ARC DECRA Fellow. Over the past six years, she has been granted a total of funds for more than AU$2 million, including two ARC DPs, one ARC LP, one CISRO/Data61 CRP project (lead CI), and seven industry-funded research projects. Her research interests focus on machine learning and its applications. She has published over 80 papers in the related areas of AI in top-tier conferences and journals, such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, KDD and IEEE TPAMI, TNNLS, and TKDE.




Biography

Jiaojiao Jiang received the Ph.D. degree from Deakin University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia. She is currently a Senior Lecturer with the School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of New South Wales, Sydney, NSW, Australia. She has published more than 40 papers in high-quality journals and conferences, including IEEE TIFS, IEEE TPDS, IEEE TDSC, IEEE TNSE, etc. Her research interests include AI for cybersecurity, complex networks, and social computing.
